3706 rue St-Denis Montreal

All the flavours of Ethiopia are at Montreal’s doorsteps and accessible to all gourmands. Taking a seat at one of the tables of the dining room, the guests can’t help but notice the elegant and refined decor, the dimmed lights creating an intimate and inviting atmosphere. Discreet African songs play in the background as guests discover the first course of their meal. Depending on the choice they made from options in the menu, diners enjoy a puree of chickpea (or bouticha) or gommen, spinach sautéed with onions, garlic and fresh green peppers.

Ethiopian tradition obliges; dishes must be eaten with the hand helped only by traditional tef crepes. Yet, this custom does not prevent gourmands from savouring the tenderness of the lightly spiced chicken in the doro watt dish or to discover the succulent lamb of the Yebeg Tibbs.

To end their culinary journey in the hitherto undiscovered territories of Africa, the guests bite into the dessert of their choice while sipping a glass of mead or enjoying a robust Ethiopian coffee.

Nil Bleu: N°1 African restaurant in Montreal
