Built in 1825, the historic building that houses Restaurant l’Etang des Moulins in the heart of Old Terrebonne welcomes guests to scenic views of the lake and Île des Moulins park. Inside, the dining room’s rustic decor sets the mood with four fireplaces, stone walls, wooden beams, and a stone wine cellar open to the public, as well as two terraces to enjoy the fresh air. During three-course meals, appetizers offer a variety of flavours, such as black sausage with caramelized apples and onion confit or french-onion soup. As waiters set main-course dishes upon tables, guests get a succulent whiff of juicy chicken breast covered with melted brie and maple syrup or dig into the fish of the day. For dessert, diners can opt for the dessert of the day or cap meals off with a flambéed crepe suzette. Nightly entertainment keeps the evening lively until plates are cleared and customers can take advantage of the restaurant’s take-home service in a Cadillac Escalade for an additional fee.
