Merguez sausage and lamb peek out from platefuls of couscous royal at Restaurant Au Tarot, where the kitchen staff introduces customers to culinary staples of North African gastronomy since 20 years. Chef Nouredin Kara respects every step of the traditional dish, packing each plate with generous portions of steamed and seasoned semolina grains, zucchini, carrots, onions, turnips, chickpeas, and chicken. Following rules that have been established in Moroccan households for centuries, vegetables and meat are sautéed, then slowly cooked together in a spicy broth. The dish is served in colourful ceramic dinnerware alongside cups of traditional mint tea or glasses of BYOB wine. Though not included in this Groupon, diners can enjoy their candlelit and white-clothed table a little longer by ordering appetizers and pastries from the menu.
