Kayak Sans Frontières’ stand-up-paddleboard lessons invite students to discover an aquatic art from Hawaii that melds the motion of canoeing with the upright stature of surfing. Each class starts with a tutorial of paddleboarding’s history, safety, and proper use of equipment. Then, instructors demonstrate how to balance on boards and row with long, gondola-esque paddles on the calm waters of the Parc Jean-Drapeau lake. Each class is limited to eight paddlers, ensuring that each student receives adequate attention from the instructor. Rental of all equipment is included, and classes are subject to weather conditions.
