Although there seems to be little connection, North of 7 Distillery actually owes its genesis to rock climbing. It was on a climbing trip that founders Greg Lipin and Jody Miall first discovered their love of spirits—a love that led them to start their own microdistillery. Today, North of 7 Distillery, which takes its name from the land north of HWY 7, whips up craft spirits with its in-house whisky, gin, and vodka stills while Greg and Jody maintain careful control over the distilling process, aging their fine whisky for a minimum of 3 years, and producing molasses rum free of flavoring or additives.
